Week 5
Welcome to Gameweek 5 which brings us our first midweek Gameweek of the FPL season.
The schedule will now start to ramp up with the busy fixture list for teams in Europe and the mid-season World Cup upon us.
Gameweek 4 gave managers some big rewards with double digit hauls for Trent Alexander-Arnold owners, Haaland owners and Luis Diaz owners, with under-looked assets such as Roberto Firmino scoring an outstanding 22 points.
Most amazingly Liverpool obliterated AFC Bournemouth 9 goals to nil and FPL royalty Mohamed Salah come away with zero returns, yes zero returns! An astonishing chain of events unfolded at Anfield.
Budget midfield enablers Odegaard (6.6m) and Saint-Maximin both continued there fine form with solid returns showing the value of midfielders currently in the 6.0-7-0m range.
Which brings us to Gameweek 5 , I’m expecting there to be an element of unknown as we wait to see Pep Guardiola will begin to employ his “Roulette Strategy”. There is also an injury blow for Zinchenko owners and a potential rotation incoming for the likes of Perisic as fixtures come thick and fast.
Now it’s time for differential time, Last weeks differential Sterling ended up with a strong 15pt haul so let’s hope for a similar result again this week, Here’s this weeks differential <10% ownership who is under looked for Gameweek 5. It’s Wolves summer recruit Guedes, another budget 6.0m midfielder pick with a 0.4% selection makes him a pick to consider.
He hit 7pts at home to Newcastle in Gameweek 4 and this Gameweek he plays a wounded Bournemouth, he’s a great option for managers looking for some value in midfield.
As always thank you everyone for reading and Good luck for Gameweek 5.
