ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

PROJECTED STARTING 17, ROUND 1 2022

FULLBACK: TYRELL SLOAN $500K 40BE (2021 AVG 39.8 WITH 6 TRIES IN 5 GAMES)

LEFT WING: CODY RAMSEY $288K 23BE (2021 AVG 23.6, 27.1 WHEN PLAYING 70+ MINS)

LEFT CENTRE: MOSES SULI $396K 32BE (21 AVG 29.4, 2021 CTR AVG 35 NO TRIES)

RIGHT CENTRE: ZAC LOMAX $499K 40BE (2021 AVG 38.5, 41.5 IN 70+ MIN AT CENTRE)

RIGHT WING: MIKAELE RAVALAWA $582 47BE (2021 AVG 39.9, NO OBVIOUS CHANGES)

LEFT HALF: TALATAU AMONE $350K 28BE (AVG 43 AT HLF)

Fantasy Outlook (M): Base stats lacking in the kicking department, but he runs and tackles a lot – shades of Dylan Brown. Worth a look at HLF for sure.

RIGHT HALF: BEN HUNT $675K 54BE (2021 AVG 57.2, ONLY 284 KICK MTR ON AVG)

Fantasy Outlook (M): With the departure of Corey Norman, we will likely see Hunt take even more control of this side, and we will also likely see a bump in his kick metres partnered with Sullivan, who registered under 70 kick metres in 2 out of his 3 games at half. If it does play out this way, Hunt may be able to sneak his average into the 60s – he averages about 400 kick metres when he kicks for at least 250. That would represent a 5 point boost on his average from last year and make him a high end season long keeper in the halves.

LEFT BACK ROW: TARIQ SIMS $573K 46BE (2021 AVG 44.4, UP TO 49 IN 70+ MIN GAMES)

RIGHT BACK ROW: JAYDN SU’A $521K 42BE (2021 AVG 40.1, 44.9 IN 70+ MIN GAMES)

LOCK: JACK BIRD $525K 43BE (2021 AVG 43.6, 51 IN 4 GAMES IN FORWARDS)

Fantasy Outlook (R): Bird exceeded expectations in 2021 putting a rough stint in Brisbane behind him and establishing himself as a keeper centre. If he occupies a starting forward role he’ll be a no brainer for a centre spot in a lot of people’s teams this year. He loves a crab run and has the tackle breaking ability to post some high ceiling scores coupled with a more consistent base from increased tackling.

PROP: JACK DE BELIN $659K 53BE (2021 AVG 48.9, 43.8 IN 58 MINS IN 50-70 MIN GAMES)

Fantasy Outlook (M): As much as it pains me, De Belin may be worth a look this year if the Dragons choose to go with the team as nominated here. There is no doubt that De Belin was playing “unfit” last year as his previous PPM when playing 50-70 minutes was around 0.9, where in 2021 it was down at around 0.75. De Belin is a big minute monster for the Dragons, and could very well return to his old form in 2022. That said, he is over 30 now, so it could just be age catching up to him. One to watch in the trials.

PROP: BLAKE LAWRIE $523K 42BE (21 AVG 40.6, 39.3 IN 46.3 MINS WHEN 40-50 MIN)

HOOKER: ANDREW MCCULLOUGH $679K 55BE (21 AVG 52, AVG 42.2 IN 63.8 SUB 80)

BENCH 1: FRANCIS MOLO

BENCH 2: JOSH KERR

BENCH 3: AARON WOODS
