THE SHORT LIST

BONAFIDE GUNS

These are the guys you can put in your side and just know they wont let you down. They have shown us enough potential value to warrant consideration for round 1 selection, rather than landing in the “buy me later” category. For a player to land here, they should show the following floors per position, while also exhibiting some upside or value.

SEASON LONG AVERAGE FLOORS:
– HOK (55)
– MID (55)
– EDG (55)
– HLF (55)
– CTR (45)
– WFB (50)

POTENTIAL BUYS – KEEPERS

Unlike their counterparts above, this group of players exhibits a floor lower than the minimum criteria, which has landed them here. We would call this group “potential keepers” rather than “definite keepers”. As a rule of thumb, we expect them to average 50+ in all but the CTR position, but see a world where they end up averaging in the high 40s instead, or being inconsistent or unpredictable in their scoring.

POTENTIAL BUYS – MID RANGERS

This group is stuck in an awkward area, with some capable of pushing into the “gun” tier with the right circumstances. There is just enough risk baked in, either with role uncertainty, lower floor or past injury, that keeps them in the tier below the group above them. Approach with caution.

POTENTIAL BUYS – CHEAPIES

This group are your traditional “cash cows”, and many of them are cheap for good reason. As with any player who starts in this price range, you can likely expect inconsistent scoring and job security concerns, but sometimes you have to risk it for the biscuit and decide which of these guys you trust just enough. There will likely be players added to, and removed from, this list as we come closer to team lists due to the above.

GUNS WE WOULDN’T START WITH (LIMITED TO NO VALUE)

A group of elite players you probably want in your side for the back end of the year, but due to success in 2022 they are likely tapped for value and not round 1 selections.

DICE ROLLS

For one reason or another, this group has the interest of the fantasy community but has not earned the trust of the Amateurs. For that reason, they go down as dice rolls – buyer beware!

TRAPS

Every season there are a number of well laid traps for young players. This year, these guys are our top candidates for the “trap” tag. When considering buying one of them, think long and hard, as there is a reason we are confident enough to label them traps.
