It’s extra trades week with Fanhub blessing us with more to burn. We’re in the run home now and players should be targeting high end keepers for the closing rounds. The buys and sells this time of year require less analysis with trades dwindling so these articles will probably become less frequent in the closing rounds. With that said there’s some high profile injuries and plenty of value floating around let’s get into it.

Buys

Angus Crichton EDG $610’000 Projected Average: 54 BE: 42

As cheap as he’s going to get and with no byes left now looks the time. With offloads and attack so powerful, dynamic scoring players seem to be the way to go and paired with an Eli Katoa, Angus looks like a slam dunk.

Tino Fa’asuamaleaui MID $616’000 Projected Average: 54 BE: 61

A big minute lock with no byes left there’s a fire sale on Tino. Origin restings and an unfortunate sternum injury two months ago has seen his price fall through the floor. With Yeo, Haas and Carrigan out Tino should enter everyone’s team this week.

These are by far the best two value options of the week for me. Plenty of other guns out there though depending on your positional needs so thought I’d rank the rest factoring in projected total points rest of season and price.

MID

  1. Fa’asuamaleaui
  2. Watson
  3. Tapine

EDG

  1. Angus
  2. E Katoa
  3. Preston

HLF

  1. Hughes
  2. I Katoa (the best option from rd22 onwards after the bye)
  3. Boyd

CTR

  1. Kiraz
  2. Fermor
  3. Herbie (obviously the highest average but a bye next week combined with price would have me waiting for rd22)

WFB

  1. Latrell
  2. T. Trbojevic
  3. Kiraz

Cash Outs

  1. DWZ
  2. Papalii
  3. Da Silva

Holds

Underperforming green dots who’s role hasn’t changed

This includes guys like AFB, Tapine, Aitken etc. you get the idea. This is a week for the clear upgrades or moving on from injured guys.

Sells

Injured guys

Lucas, Savala, Metcalf, Kautoga, Papenhuyzen etc. again you get the idea. Only non-injured guys you should be moving on from this week are clear non-keepers like Tevaga, Purdue, King-Togia etc. Even someone like Tallis Duncan may not fit this billing as he could easily end up back in the second row next week.

Spicy Buys

If your rank is in the mud and you just want to have some fun then here are some spicy POD options

Adam Doueihi HLF/CTR $576’000

For a full breakdown of Doueihi click here

Honestly no idea what this looks like. The minutes are completely up in the air but the potential for a big minute goal kicking lock that’s available at centre is a hard proposition to ignore. The ultimate of spicy buys with huge risk and a very high reward on offer

Tom Dearden HLF $595’000

Over 500 kick metres for Origin hero Tom Dearden last week against the Bulldogs. If he keep that going he fits the prototype of Hughes all be it in a worse team, with his running game and try scoring ability.

Dane Gagai CTR $586’000

The shift to fullback for the remainder of the season offers a unique opportunity for people looking for a cheaper centre option. A few red flags given his age and the Knights being a bad team but that didn’t slow Gagai down against Melbourne, posting a tryless 64.
