Buys

If you can afford the premium option go that way first. Time to gun up but you don’t need me to tell you Campbell/Herbie/Teddy etc. are good at football and most of which have featured in the buy section of this article in weeks past. That said if you’re working on a budget then here are some options I like.

Eli Katoa EDG $697’000 Projected Average: 54 BE: 57

An 80 minute attacking edge playing for the best attacking team in the comp with no byes left for the entire season seems like an easy decision. Again this probably a team specific buy depending on your needs but he’s a very good option. Outside of a strange game against the Dolphins in round 7, he’s average 57 this year and is perhaps flying a bit under the radar.

Jed Stuart WFB $230’000 Projected Average: 28 BE: 18

Who doesn’t love a nepo baby? Don’t expect miracles from Jed he’s purely a cash out option and a textbook winger that’ll see teen scores on weeks he doesn’t score a try. Ideally he should only see your scoring side in round 18 and otherwise be nestled safely in your 21 spot. If you already have Lawson or a few other cash outs then it might be best to avoid Jed.

Kurt Donoghoe HOK/HLF $514’000 Projected Average 47 BE: 17

If you’ve got your fill of Rabbits and perhaps the round 19 availability is more valuable than round 18 for bye planning, then Donoghoe looks a great option and maybe the perfect 18th man to pair with Erin Clark as your hooker cover for the run home with the rest of the position looking like a dumpster fire. The Dolphins are running out of middles and someone will benefit. For a full breakdown click here.

Holds

Jamal Fogarty HLF $707’000 Projected Average: 55 BE: 64

When we last saw Fogarty he wasn’t goal kicking which is giving coaches a lot of temptation to sell. It generally doesn’t take too long for these minor groin strains to settle and after another week off now it should do Fogarty the world of good. If he isn’t kicking again in round 16 I may change my tune but with round 18 availability and playing in a top 4 side, the ceiling is still high for Fogarty and he’s still a top 5 half.

Keaon Koloamatangi MID/EDG $832’000 Projected Average: 60 BE: 50

With surgery avoided and the injury not seeming as serious as first feared, it makes Kolo an easy hold in my opinion. Clearly one of the top middle options and possibly the number one edge option on top of being a vital round 18 number if fit makes him worthy of holding. Lurking down in the reserves is a good sign though I don’t expect him to play this week.

Sells

Hamish Stewart MID $504’000 Projected Average: 53 BE: 49

Shane Flanagan has messed with the rotation again it makes Hamish a fairly urgent sell. It could change on a dime but his price rises have been ruined and if he isn’t getting the minutes then losing the cash made isn’t worth holding for a sub par round 18 score. His price won’t change this week so if you want don’t need the green dot and want a hold one more week that’s fine too.

Savelio Tamale CTR/WFB $497’000 BE: 56

A long term injury makes Tamale an easy upgrade candidate this week. A shame for it to end this way but he’s done his duty.

Kiti Kautoga EDG/CTR $536’000 BE: 49

If you’ve held this long it might be time to take the cash and run. He kicked on well post the Eels round 8 bye but with a spate of other top line EDG/CTR options and with Moses injured plus a bye in round 18 leaves Kiti as a good upgrade option. Certainly not urgent if you need the green dot however.

Spicy Buys

Sio Talakai EDG/CTR $295’000 Pojected average: 26 BE: 15

With Hiroti out for the short term Talakai works his way back into the starting side taking over that left centre spot. If you want a cash out and potentially solid scorer for rd16/19 then Talakai looks a solid option. He also comes with the added benefit of being a green dot for the rest of the year even after Hiroti returns. I think I’d go a different direction but definitely an option if he fits your needs.
