Buys
Zac Hosking EDG $592’000 Projected Average: 52 BE: 41
With Nicholson gone and Hudson Young likely to be around the NSW side makes Hosking a big winner in this situation. Certainly some red flags around his durability but the upside is so great that makes for the right kind of risk at this price.
Hamish Stewart MID $456’000 Projected Average: 47 BE: 8
A lot of game theory green flags here with the young middle forward displacing the 34 year old veteran at lock and now seemingly even more secure in the short term with Couchman out. Hamish Stewart boasts an impressive PPM and in the starting lock role has the ceiling to push into a high 40s average if things break his way. The drawbacks are this could change at any time but it’s 100% the type of risk to target. He also doesn’t play round 12 for overall coaches but the mid position looks the hardest to fill in round 15 which may be something to consider.
Keaon Koloamatangi MID/EDG $633’000 Projected Average: 53 BE: 34
One that could wait until after the round 12 bye for some, Koloamatangi looks a slam dunk buy for those who already have their round 12 side sorted. His shift to the middle and big minute role should easily see him average in the mid 50s with upside to push closer to 60.
Latrell Mitchell WFB $700’000 Projected Average: 59 BE: 45
One for the H2H coaches this week as Latrell looks the buy of the week for those not playing major or minor bye rounds. The addition of a large amount of kick metres each week on top of his already fantasy friendly game has put Latrell on par with Jayden Campbell as the top WFB option. Having dropped 100k from his starting price and at under 5% ownership makes him a game winning POD option.
Holds
Jaxon Purdue CTR $555’000 Projected Average: 46 BE: 39
With the shift into the halves comes a new potential ceiling for Purdue in a team that hasn’t been afraid of scoring points. It’s possible it doesn’t work out but the ceiling is Fletcher Sharpe and with no bye from round 13 to 26, a one week look is worthwhile.
Sells
Toby Couchman MID/EDG $735’000 BE: 59
He was an ambiguous hold and likely a sell even if playing this week so the 3 week absence provides a perfect excuse to cut bait on Couchman. We were early adopters on the Toby train and he’s done his job superbly til now but a big minute middle forward with suspect shoulders isn’t a good combo.
Matty Nicholson EDG $679’000 BE: 65
A 3 month injury has made this an easy decision. Not much more that needs to be said.
Lachlan Hubner MID $431’000 BE: 35
Certainly not urgent and will likely end up over 500k at some point but he’s turned into such a slow burn it’s not worth holding another month to get there. He’s certainly been unlucky with a suspension and HIA but it’s time to upgrade.
Spicy Buys
Euan Aitken $589’000 Projected Average: 52 BE: 37
Despite losing the CTR dual we’ve all enjoyed from back row Aitken in recent years, he is still in his own right a great edge option. A career average of 55 in his 70+ minute appearances makes him a cut price option for those seeking a round 15 & 18 edge. The glaring red flag here is he could be shifted to the centres at any time should injuries strike but if things break his way then there’s 100k+ to be made here
Jahrome Hughes HLF $557’000 Projected average: 51 BE: 28
Hughes finally put up his first 50+ score of the season in round 10 and with Munster about to depart for Origin and a week off coming up to fully heal up, the time for Hughes looks closer than ever. Ultimately we recommend waiting until round 13 but if you want to pull the trigger early he’s the cheapest he’s going to get right now.
