Buys

Lyhkan King-Togia HLF $260’000 Projected Average: 35 BE: 1

A great start to his cash generation and still well below 300k, the bar is very low for him to be a worthwhile purchase. Ilias is hardly a world beater and now that he’s been given the keys should at least get a few weeks. He was a low 40s average half in reserve grade but at his age there’s certainly room to grow. Looks the best of the sub 300k options.

Hamish Stewart MID $414’000 Projected Average: 42 BE: 15

A lot of game theory green flags here with the young middle forward displacing the 34 year old veteran. Hamish Stewart boasts an impressive PPM and now in the starting lock role, has the ceiling to push into a high 40s average if things break his way. The drawbacks are this could change at any time but it’s 100% the type of risk to target. He also doesn’t play round 12 for overall coaches but the mid position looks the hardest to fill in round 15 which may be something to consider.

Jazz Tevaga HOK/MID $366’000 Projected Average: 35 BE: 7

On the older side for a middle and not one we’d ordinarily go for but at this price, the state of the hooker position and now that he’s the starting lock, it seems like a perfect storm of worlds aligning. If you’ve not gone for an expensive hooker then I think Jazz is a good pivot and our preferred option over Ryley Smith.

Holds

Siua Wong EDG $624’000 BE: 57 & Naufahu Whyte MID/EDG $612’000 BE: 53

I know a lot of people have a lot of red dots this week but if you can afford to hold these two through this bye round then you’ll be far better off for it come the major bye rounds. With these two available for all three major and minor bye rounds, the hold this week will be worth it.

Sells

Jacob Preston EDG $786’000 BE: 59

A four week suspension with a bye in between will see Preston miss 5 weeks, which at his premium price is far too long. An unfortunate sell given how good he’s been but he’s too expensive to hold that long.

Connor Watson HOK/MID $656’000 BE: 65

The Roosters bye is here and you’ve likely got multiple Roosters in your team along with other injuries or suspensions that could mount up, someone has to go. Watson seems the likely candidate to sell with Origin around the corner it’s time to cut ties now.

Peter Mamouzelos HOK $580’000 BE: 54

If the ambiguous length of the injury wasn’t enough to sell, the impending arrival of Brandon Smith surely tips it over the edge. A lost of people have been running only Pistol Pete for as long as possible and now the day has come. Farewell Pete.

Spicy Buys

Erin Clark HOK/MID $681’00 Projected Average: 50 BE: 28

Luke Metcalf HLF $637’000 Projected average: 53 BE: 8

A lot of people sold Metcalf weeks ago and may be just putting him out of their mind but it’s important to take the player goggles off and examine him as an independent purchase, forgetting you ever owned him. This Warriors team is flying as of late and Metcalf has picked up the kick metres significantly over the past three rounds whilst also bringing back the run metres that made him so good. A goal kicking, running half who does the bulk of the in play kicking is a recipe for success, look no further than Jayden Campbell.
