Buys
Dylan Egan EDG $402’000 Projected average: 40 BE: -19
Last chance saloon for those who haven’t jumped on Egan yet. With a monstrously low break even and a high work rate is the perfect combination for a fantasy cash cow. He looks destined for a price with a 6 in front of it.
David Fifita EDG $668’000 Projected Average: 54 BE: 23
We are so back. The price has dropped considerably and he’s finally got the starting job back with Haas relegated to the bench. Even if he ends up only being a 65 minute edge he should still present with 5pts of value which doesn’t seem like much but you buy on the upside that he gets a few 80 minute games. If he was a regular 75+ minute player he’d easily average in the 60s.
Jamal Fogarty HLF $704’000 Projected Average: 59 BE: 49
With a base as solid as rock you can set your watch to Jamal Fogarty each week. Even in a blow out loss to Manly he posted a 41 which is very encouraging. He’s as solid as they come and will rarely let you down.
Holds
Isaiah Iongi WFB $395’000 BE: 23
If you’re one of the 30% that have held this far then it’s time to give him at least one more week before the bye. The return of Moses could finally spark something in attack for Parramatta and that alone is worthy of one more week with a very achievable break even.
Rob Toia CTR $432’000 BE: 30
Bobby Trees is averaging 39 this season while not having scored a try and only registering one linebreak so far. A very solid base means he’s worth giving a longer leash and should be due a big score soon.
Sells
Alex Seyfarth MID/EDG $539’000 BE: 48
The red lightning has sparked out in round 6 with back-to-back below par scores and to be honest he’s been threatening to do this for a while. A late try in round 3 followed by a fortunate linebreak in round 4 propelled his break evens low enough to hold but the magic has run out. He may improve without Galvin hogging the ball but I’m not hanging around to find out.
Jack Cole HLF $377’000 BE: 14
Not urgent given he’s a red dot this week and the break even is still low but he has undoubtedly sucked when paired with Nathan Cleary, averaging just under 22 in the three games Cleary has played 70+ minutes. His average run metres per game have been half of what he’s posted in the two games without Cleary, highlighting that he’s an after thought in attack.
J’maine Hopgood MID/EDG $682’000 BE: 69
Hopgood could still end up being a keeper however it’s become quite clear that he simply isn’t the minutes priority he was under Brad Arthur. Given the ease Ryles has moved him into hooker and then played around with his minutes, now with Williams back it doesn’t look likely to improve.
